The archaeological site of “San Gervasio” is the most important and best studied pre-Hispanic site of all the documented settlements on Cozumel Island. It is named after its location in the old room “San Gervasio”. This archaeological ensemble has been considered the center of pilgrimages where the Mayans worshipped the Goddess “Ixchel”.
