Welcome Orientation at Hotel: Gather together with your fellow Adventurers and your Adventure Guides to go over the exciting itinerary that awaits you over the next 8 days. Ljubljana Walking Tour: Get your first look at the magnificent capital city of Slovenia, also known as the "City of Dragons.” Walk through the pedestrian Old Town area where you’ll see key features such as the iconic bridges—including the dramatic dragon-adorned Dragon Bridge—the bustling market area and St. Nicholas’ Cathedral, the city’s stunning Gothic church. The tour concludes at Krek Square where you’ll board the funicular for a ride up to Ljubljana Castle. Funicular to Ljubljana Castle: Marvel at the amazing views of the city on this smooth journey up the hill atop the railway tracks to Ljubljana Castle. Ljubljana Castle Historic Storytellers Tour: Embark on a guided tour through time while meeting residents of Ljubljana’s landmark medieval fortress. Learn about daily life at an outpost of the Ancient Roman Empire through the dynamic and diplomatic turn of the 20th Century through immersive stories told by costumed storytellers along the way. Welcome Dinner at Ljubljana Castle: Following your tour, come together with your fellow Adventurers for a welcome dinner at the castle’s courtyard restaurant. Return to Krek Square & Walk to Hotel: After a wonderful meal with newfound friends, take the funicular back to Krek Square and take a relaxing stroll through Old Town back to your hotel.

Honey Tasting & Beekeeping Demonstration: Meet the tiny pollinator that has the Slovenian countryside buzzing with pride: the Carniolan honeybee. Learn how Slovenian apiculture came to be added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list as you join a beekeeper for a demonstration of how they care for their colonies. You’ll also see the colorful Panjske Končnice (painted beehive panels) and sample the sweet honey and other hive-made products. Lake Bled Pletna Boat Cruise & Church Visit: Glide across the tranquil waters of picturesque Lake Bled on a traditional hand-rowed Pletna boat. Arrive at a small island, which is home to the Church of the Assumption, a modest chapel with a resplendent alter which has welcomed visitors to its site since the 7th century. Make a wish by ringing the bell 3 times and choose to ascend to the top of the clock tower for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and village. See important details. Lake Bled On Your Own: Take time to enjoy the quaint village of Bled on your own. You can choose to jump into the clear, glacial water, rent a rowboat or stand-up paddleboard to traverse the lake, or follow the walking path past the village of Bled and down the promenade. Dinner & Evening On Your Own in Ljubljana: Following your transfer back to Ljubljana, the evening is yours to explore on your own. Velika Planina: Soar up into the Kamnik-Savinja Alps on a cable car and chair lift before taking a gentle hike to the protected mountain settlement of Velika Planina, where Slovenian herdsmen have brought their beloved cows for centuries. Experience various aspects of daily life for the herdsmen as you taste homemade mountain refreshments and snacks at a family home, visit a traditional herdsman’s home that has been restored to reflect traditional mountain life, and discover the settlement’s sense of community in locations that include the Chapel of the Snow Mary and the meeting hall that brought people together for the summer months spent on the mountain. Transfer to Airport & Flight to Dubrovnik: Head to Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG) for your commercial flight to Dubrovnik, Croatia. Transfer to Cavtat & Lunch On Your Own: Upon arrival at Dubrovnik's airport, go directly to the quaint seaside village of Cavtat, where you’ll take in your scenic surroundings and enjoy a delicious lunch on your own. Your Adventure Guides will be happy to recommend their favorite lunch spots. Private Boat to Dubrovnik: Take in the fresh sea air and the stunning views of the Croatian coastline as you cruise past sun-drenched villages on your way to the walled city of Dubrovnik.
