4.9 / 5 · 100 traveler reviews
Escape Auckland for a scenic day trip through the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula and be part of a small group as you explore some of the region’s most iconic coastal highlights. Travel through lush Waikato countryside and along the coast before arriving at Hahei Beach, a stunning spot to stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery. From Hahei, continue to Cathedral Cove, one of New Zealand’s most iconic natural landmarks. Take the 30–45 minute walk through native bush and along the coastline to reach the spectacular cove, with its dramatic cliffs, golden sands and clear blue waters. After Cathedral Cove, enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch by the coast before heading to Hot Water Beach. Here, you can dig your own natural spa pool in the warm, mineral-rich sand — tide permitting. With a small group, plenty of time to explore and a great mix of nature, scenery and adventure, this is a relaxed way to experience the Coromandel before returning to Auckland in the evening.
